Maintaining an all Natural Hair Routine

As you know I am a big fan of using all natural products for my hair, but I just learned recently that not all of those natural products agree with my hair.  I use an Ayurvedic routine and they work just fine for me, however, when I tried to use an all natural conditioner that came highly recommended, Emma (the name for my hair) hated it.  It was dry, felt straw like and I lost definition by midmorning. I always give products a 2 week trial before I call it quits.  I added honey to the conditioner and co-washed again, nope.  I added oils to the conditioner and cowash…nada.

I went back to my silicone conditioner that is especially for Curls and my hair is so soft, curly, minimal shrinkage and holds definition all day long and it actually feels hydrated.  I know you all are probably giving me the stink eye over my choice of using a silicone conditioner, but you have to do what is best for your hair.

In becoming natural a good Naturalista  you must become a “hair whisper” and listen to what your hair says to you.  What works for others may not necessarily work for you.  Never let anyone make you feel guilty about your choices.  Its your hair and your choice!!

Until the next time, Keep it Kinky!!
